EuroPenPals: English Email Exchange Across Europe
In this project, 5th grade (10–11) and 6th grade (11–12) students from Sant Cugat will be matched with partner classes from another region of Europe. Throughout the school year, pupils will exchange regular emails in English to introduce themselves, describe their families, hobbies, school life and local traditions.
The aim is to improve students’ writing and reading skills in English while fostering curiosity, empathy, and intercultural understanding. Teachers will agree on a simple calendar of topics (for example: “All About Me,” “My School Day,” “Our Town,” “Celebrations”) and support students in drafting and revising their messages. When possible, classes may also create simple digital products (such as presentations or posters) based on what they learn from their partners. By the end of the project, students will have built meaningful connections and gained confidence in using English to communicate with real peers.
